Welcome to the letters to the editor website of the Austin chapter of Citizens’ Climate Lobby. The chapter includes Austin-area members who live in TX10, TX17, TX21, TX25 and TX35 Congressional Districts.

We meet (virtually) on the second Saturday of each month following the monthly Citizens’ Climate Lobby national call that takes place at noon Central Time. Notifications and links for the national and chapter calls are sent a few days prior to each meeting via the free community platform. One can join the chapter (any chapter) from the “join” button on this page, Citizens’ Climate Lobby: Take Action on Climate Change Solutions. Then CCL membership will send a login/password. For a map of all local and at large chapters of Citizens’ Climate Lobby across the United States and globally, follow this link.

This website was created to fill the need for dedicated URLs for the letters and opinions of our members. We also wanted to give our letter authors and their discussions more online coverage, and to make them more “sharable” and “searchable.” We begin this website with letters published in November 2020. Newest letters are listed first. The full text of each letter is provided via the links below (if you subscribe via email, you will receive those individual letter posts as they are published on the website.). When available, we link back to the media page where the letters were published. We wish to thank our media partners for publishing the opinions of our members. We deeply appreciate their interest in our work.

Mission

Citizens’ Climate Lobby is a nonprofit, nonpartisan, grassroots advocacy organization focused on national policies to address climate change solutions.

Our consistently respectful, nonpartisan approach to climate education is designed to create a broad, sustainable foundation for climate action across all geographic regions and political inclinations. By building upon shared values rather than partisan divides, and empowering our supporters to work in keeping with the concerns of their local communities, we work towards the adoption of fair, effective, and sustainable climate change solutions.

In order to generate the political will necessary for passage of the Energy Innovation and Carbon Dividend Act we train and support volunteers to build relationships with elected officials, the media and their local community.
